EU calls for war crimes tribunal over Ukraine mass graves
The European Union (EU) presidency on Saturday called for the establishment of an international tribunal for war crimes after a new mass grave was discovered in Ukraine.
“In the 21st century, such an attack on civilians is unthinkable and abhorrent,” said Jan Lipavski, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic, which holds the rotating presidency of the European Union.
“We must not overlook it. We support the punishment of all war criminals,” he added in a Twitter message.
“There are several bodies with their hands tied behind their backs and one person buried with a rope around his neck,” he added.
