SINGAPORE – Six people were taken to hospital after a traffic accident occurred at the intersection of Keppel Road and Cantonment Ring on Saturday night.

One of them, a 50-year-old male ComfortDelGro taxi driver, suffered leg and chest injuries.

Police and the Singapore Civil Defense Force (SCDF) said they were alerted to a collision between a taxi and a car at around 8:15 pm.

Besides the taxi driver, a 55-year-old male driver and four taxi passengers were taken to Singapore General Hospital in a conscious state, officials said.

Tammy Tan, corporate communications officer at Comfort Delgro Group, said the taxi had given way to the green light at the junction and was going straight ahead when another vehicle turning right at the same junction collided with the taxi. He said he ran over a curb and crashed. traffic lights.

A passenger suffered minor injuries, but the taxi driver was hospitalized with leg and chest injuries, Tan said.

A police investigation is ongoing.
