KUALA LUMPUR: The opposition election manifesto in the last 14th general election (GE14) was full of empty promises, which upset many people, said interim prime minister Ismail Sabri on Thursday. Jacob said.
He said young people in particular were among those who were duped by Pakatan Harapan’s (PH) manifesto promises for GE14 in 2018.
“(Unlike ours), young people were most deceived in the manifesto of empty promises in GE14. Failure to create opportunities has killed tens of thousands of young people out of work,” Ismail Sabri said in a Facebook post.
He said the opposition offered only empty promises, unlike the 2023 budget submitted by the then-government in parliament on Oct. 7.
Although parliament was dissolved before the budget was deliberated and approved, Ismail Sabri said he would now stand if his government was re-elected in the upcoming 15th general election (GE15) scheduled for November. He said the budget would be submitted again by the end of the year. 19.
The budget submitted by then-Finance Minister Tengku Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz on Oct. 7 revealed Ismail Sabri’s government’s spending plans for 2023, including RM372.3 billion (US$80.06 billion).
