Leny Yoro Reveals the Key Figures Behind His Manchester United Debut

Leny Yoro credited Manchester United’s coaching staff for helping him feel “comfortable” during his debut, following an impressive performance in Saturday’s 2-0 victory over Rangers at Murrayfield Stadium.

Just under 48 hours after completing his transfer from Lille to Old Trafford, the 18-year-old made his debut in the pre-season friendly. Yoro partnered with Jonny Evans in central defense, playing the first half of the match and contributing significantly.

With Evans providing guidance, Yoro showcased his ability to distribute the ball effectively and executed two key defensive actions to secure a clean sheet for United.

Despite the typical pre-season considerations, Yoro’s performance was promising, particularly given that it was his first training session with his new teammates just the day before. He expressed appreciation for the support he received from both his teammates and the coaching staff.

“Yes, of course, my teammates helped me a lot, and the staff made me feel comfortable on the pitch,” Yoro told MUTV. “We are together, so for me, it is very good.”

Yoro was the center of attention prior to the match after being named in the 26-man squad that traveled to the Scottish capital.

Reflecting on his debut, he said, “For me, it was incredible. It was a very good game from the team, and I am happy with my performance. I hope we continue like that.”

Manchester United’s next challenge is their tour of the United States. They will depart on Wednesday for matches against Arsenal, Real Betis, and Liverpool.

“Of course, we go to America on Wednesday, and we will have three competitive games,” Yoro added. “The fans will be there, I know, and the team will give everything to win those games.”
