A Bangladeshi worker died after hitting a tree trunk on Wednesday (December 7), making him the 43rd workplace fatality in 2022.

The Ministry of Labor (MOM) said the fatal accident occurred around 3:30 pm Wednesday at Toa Payoh East near 1003 Toa Payoh Industrial Park.

The fatalities came after authorities implemented tougher sanctions to minimize an increase in workplace fatalities.

Businesses should have their management system checked by an external auditor if they have received a work stoppage order in the past or have workers who have been seriously injured on the job.
