Impact of Globalization on Education

Education system has undergone a huge transformation with the passing years. The COVID-19 phase has brought about a revolution in the education approach. It is rightly said, “Necessity is the mother of invention” and the need and crave to reach out to the childrenreinvented methods giving a new way to modern technological approach in the present day education system.There is a significant impact of globalization on education.

Each passing year is inscribing a new innovation and global practices enriching the entire education system. Globalization has impacted the quality of education to a large extent. This platform provides subtle exposures worldwide to all the countries and thus provide them opportunities to replicate them and further enhance their Education system. Teaching updated technologies are made available to students worldwide as an impact of Knowledge -sharing among the countries across the world.

New methods of learning such as e-learning, blended-learning was quickly adopted by many countries due to Globalization. Globalization led to the development of Foreign Universities in developing countries. There was a drastic transition in the infrastructure and facilities due to the foreign investments in the education sector.Students are facilitated to study in colleges of other countries throughe-learning.The strength of students studying in foreign Universities are enormously increasing thereby stimulating the countries to adopt new methods and improve upon the quality of education and teaching  practices on a continuous basis.

Globalization has brought about Practical education into the forefront. It has enabled students to develop an understanding of the other cultures in turn develop Empathy and understanding,fulfilling the eminent goal of Education. Education has relived its importance and has recorded an increase in the literacy rates worldwide. Globalization has exposed the people to their rights and also to the lacunae in the system or Governance of their own country. The practical education is fostering them to be a part of the development of their country.

Globalization has encouraged many countries to adopt alternative learning systems such as homeschooling, distance Education ,World schooling etc. Globalization has initiated interest among the students in learning and following modern blended culture.

The rich and the privileged has the access to quality education and the unprivileged ones are deprived of and remains inaccessible .The gap between the rich- poor and the rural -urban population is wide with respect to educational opportunities .Globalization is further widening these gaps and the accessible ones are deriving benefits and further enhancing their economic status. The gap in Education should be bridged to provide platform to all for deriving benefits and utilisation of opportunities created by Globalization.
