Free mouthwash available in all Singapore homes

Under the Stay Prepared Initiative, the Temasek Foundation provides all households in Singapore with StayWell Mouth Gargle free of charge to help everyone stay safe, healthy and protect their communities.

StayWell Mouse Mouthwash contains 1% povidone iodine (PVP-I) as an active ingredient that is effective against a wide range of bacteria, including those that cause sore throat.

Singapore is moving towards living with COVID-19 as an endemic infection. Vaccination is an important defense to control the spread of the infection and reduce the severity of the COVID-19 disease. This is especially important for older people over the age of 60. Pregnant mothers; people with weakened immunity to illness or medication. People with chronic illnesses at high risk such as obesity, diabetes and high blood pressure. Those who have an underlying heart or lung condition.

Elderly people over the age of 60 can enter any vaccination center for booster vaccinations 6 months after the second vaccination. Booster shots can significantly reduce the risk of infection as well as the risk of severe infection and illness in the elderly.

Young adults between the ages of 30 and 59 can register for boosters upon SMS invitation. High vaccination rates, including boosters, also help protect people who are not yet vaccinated, such as infants.

We need to work diligently on wearing masks during the transition to life with COVID-19 in the coming months. Clean your hands regularly. Avoid narrow, enclosed spaces with poor ventilation.

Most importantly, Singaporeans need to reduce the frequency and diversity of social contact for mask-down activities, especially to reduce pressure on hospitals and health care workers. Keep your eating and drinking social circles small and limit your eating activities to your family as much as possible for the next few months.

Alternatively, if you meet different contact groups for mask-down activities such as food and drink, consider interspersing such activities with a 1-2 week break between the different groups. is needed. This is a form of safe distance over time, especially to break the chain of infections from asymptomatic or asymptomatic carriers.

Working with Singapore Post and other partners, the Stay Prepared team offers free StayWell Mouse Mouthwash to all households as an additional care item. This initiative follows the previous 18-month initiative to distribute masks, hand sanitizers, and oximeters free of charge to Singapore residents or households.

Maintaining personal hygiene to protect the community from COVID-19

Countries around the world are gradually opening up, depending on local conditions. Singapore is in it.

It has been almost two years since Singapore witnessed the first COVID-19 case in the country. Since then, various efforts and regulations have been implemented to curb the spread of the virus and support Singaporeans throughout these times of trials, with the ultimate goal of ensuring that everyone can safely resume their daily lives. It is said.

StayWell Mouse Mouthwash contains 1% PVP-I.

The immunization rate in Singapore is over 80%. This is a necessary step to encourage the transition to a new normal life with COVID-19. We are still vulnerable, so it is important that all residents of Singapore take care to prevent rapid or large-scale infections in the community.

Important safety measures include wearing a mask. Safe distance between space and time; avoid high-risk behaviors, activities, and places. Maintain good personal hygiene.

In addition to hand hygiene, oral hygiene also helps reduce common respiratory infections such as sore throat and contributes to personal health.

Temasek Chairman Lim Boon Heng said: What remained constant throughout this campaign against COVID-19 was the collective effort of all Singaporeans to adapt to the evolving challenges of the virus, including the now predominant Delta variant. Through these initiatives, we must continue to be resilient and help each other stay in good shape. Because no one is safe until everyone is safe. “

Woon Saet Nyoon, CEO of Temasek Foundation Cares, said: Besides washing your hands and using hand sanitizers regularly, oral hygiene is just as important. Gargling with povidone iodine helps kill bacteria that cause sore throat. I personally use it for many years every time I feel a sore throat and it is very effective. Along with other measures such as vaccination and wearing masks, we confidently reduce the spread of infectious bacteria and viruses in the community and safely move to life with COVID-19 in the coming months. I can. “
