SEOUL – Italian supercar maker Ferrari NV will hold its first public event in Asia in Seoul, joining a growing list of luxury brands flocking to South Korea.
Dubbed Universo Ferrari, the event will showcase 22 models, including the recently launched Ferrari Roma Spider. The event, which kicked off on Thursday, also features several iconic models, including Formula 1 racing cars.
South Korea has become a magnet for global luxury brands looking to capitalize on the country’s growing cultural cash.
LVMH’s largest Louis Vuitton held a pre-fall fashion show in Seoul in April, followed by Kering SA’s Gucci last month. Mercedes-Benz Group AG posted record sales in South Korea in 2022, driven by “ultra-luxury brands” such as the Mercedes-Maybach GLS.
“South Korea is a very important market for Ferrari and holding this special exhibition in Seoul is a way to thank all owners and fans for their passion and support,” said the automaker’s chief marketing and commercial officer. said Enrico Galliera of statement. According to the company, Ferrari will sell about 300 cars in South Korea in 2022, accounting for about 2.5% of the 12,000 sold worldwide.
