Apple’s launch of mixed reality headsets could be delayed

Apple’s mixed reality headsets may debut later than originally expected.

People familiar with the situation told Bloomberg that Apple is considering delaying the launch of mixed reality headsets by at least a few months. Initially scheduled to debut at WWDC in June, it was scheduled to be sold at retail stores at the end of the year.

Apple is reportedly facing headset development challenges. This includes overheating caused by the use of high-end processors, cameras, and software-related issues. Supply chain partners have been informed that mixed reality headsets may not be released until next year.

Bloomberg added that WWDC 2023 will focus on building virtual and augmented reality apps for headsets. Mixed reality headsets are rumored to have their own App Store, built for gaming, media consumption, and communications.
