Apple Watch Series 7 runs on the same chipset as Apple Watch Series 6

Apple Watch Series 7 runs on the same chipset as Apple Watch Series 6

Apple didn’t mention anything about the Apple Watch Series 7 chipset during the event, which could be a reason.

Based on the latest version of Xcode, developer Steve Troughton-Smith believes that the Apple Watch Series 7 has the same chipset as the Apple Watch Series 6. Both smartwatches are said to have a “t8301” CPU. S6 chipset.

Simply put, the S6 chipset is based on the A13 Bionic and is up to 20% faster than the S5 chipset. It also supports faster 5GHz Wi-Fi and more power efficient ones.

The lack of a new chipset and a solid availability have led to speculation that Apple has encountered some serious problems with its new smartwatch. A few weeks before the event, it was reported that the Apple Watch Series 7 adopted a new box-shaped flat edge design. However, Apple is said to have encountered a smartwatch production problem earlier this month. Did these production issues force Apple to make a last-minute decision to improvise the design?
